About these terms
These terms cover your use of the Runeflake website. By using the site you accept
them. If you do not, please stop using it.
They are not the terms of any work we might do for you. If we agree to build
something, that is covered by a separate written agreement, and where the two ever
disagree, that agreement wins.
Who we are
This site is operated by Runeflake. You can reach us through the
contact form.
How we handle the information you send us is set out in our
Privacy Policy.
Using this website
You may read this site, print pages from it and share links to it. You may use the
enquiry form to get in touch about work.
Please give us accurate details when you do. We will act on what you tell us, and
a wrong email address mostly wastes your time rather than ours.
What is on this site, and what it is not
The pages here describe the kind of work we do. They are written to help you decide
whether to talk to us.
Nothing on this site is an offer that you can accept to form a contract, and
nothing here is professional advice for your particular situation. What is right for
one business is often wrong for another, which is why the first thing we do is have a
conversation about yours.
Enquiries, quotes and prices
Sending an enquiry costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It is a request for a
conversation, not an order.
Any price shown on this site is an indication of where work of that kind usually
starts. It is not a quote. The figure that counts is the one we give you in writing
for your specific piece of work, after we understand what it involves.
We are only bound once we have both agreed the work in writing.
The guarantee
We say on this site that if a fix does not pay for itself in new work, you get your
money back. We mean it, and we would rather set out plainly how it works than leave it
vague.
The details — what counts as paying for itself, over what period it is measured,
what we each need to do for the measurement to be meaningful, and how a refund is
paid — are agreed in writing before the work starts, as part of your agreement with
us. That is where the guarantee lives. This page is not the guarantee itself.
If those terms have not been written down for your project, ask us for them before
you commit.
Examples, figures and case studies
Any examples, numbers or case studies on this site are there to show the shape of
the work and the kind of outcome it aims at. They describe particular situations, and
they are not a promise that your business will see the same result.
Our content
The text, design, layout, graphics and code on this site belong to us or are used
with permission. You may not copy them for your own commercial use, or present them as
your own, without our written permission.
Linking to us is welcome, provided you do it in a way that is fair and does not
suggest an association or endorsement that does not exist.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Use the enquiry form to send unsolicited advertising, or anything unlawful, abusive or deliberately misleading.
- Attempt to gain access to any part of the site, server or database you are not meant to reach.
- Interfere with the site's operation, including by flooding the form or probing it with automated tools.
- Scrape or copy the site systematically for use elsewhere.
We may block access if any of this happens.
Availability
We try to keep the site up and correct, but we do not promise it will always be
available or entirely free of errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of
it without notice.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by
our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that
the law does not allow us to limit.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, loss
of data or other indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website,
or from relying on anything published on it.
If you are using this site for business purposes, the consumer protections that
would otherwise apply do not apply to you.
Links to other sites
Where we link somewhere else, it is because we think it is useful. We do not
control those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes about them
fall to the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any protection that
the law where you live gives you and that cannot be set aside by agreement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies, and
the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Using the site after a change
means you accept the updated terms.
